Land Use

  • Mobilized community input to the City Planning Department’s proposed 1995 update to the Northeast Plan, resulting in the Planning Department holding additional hearings and making major revisions to the Northeast Plan. After years of tenacious effort by TERA and the Community Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC), a Plan far more beneficial to all Northeast communities was unanimously passed by the City Council in June 1999.
  • Helped develop and enact the Colorado Boulevard Specific Plan, setting a new standard for development on Colorado. The Plan has helped improve the appearance and quality of businesses on Eagle Rock’s main street.
  • Participated in the development and eventual passage of the Community Design Overlay Ordinance, which allows community-based design standards and guidelines to be established to steer future development in Los Angeles neighborhoods.
