Greg Merideth
President
Greg Merideth is a 35 year resident of Eagle Rock and has lived in the Greater Los Angeles area for over 45 years. Over the course of his residency, he has developed a deep affection for the hometown feel of the Eagle Rock community. As a result, he is interested in working with TERA to preserve and enhance the unique residential, commercial , and open space qualities of the community. He is a 35 year employee of the City of Los Angeles and currently works as Manager of Information Technology for the Bureau of Contract Administration where he served for the last 25 years. Prior that he served in the Planning Department as the Secretary of the Board of Zoning Appeals which gave him some insight into land use and entitlement issues.

While Greg has lived in Los Angeles for the great majority of his life, he spent his childhood as a Navy brat bouncing between varied places such as New York, Virginia, and Nebraska. He completed his high school education in Glendale, which gave him his first exposure to Eagle Rock. Greg also has a Bachelor in Information Systems and Master’s in Information Technology. Greg and his wife Minh like the experience of traveling but are proud to call Eagle Rock their home.

Luis López
Vice President
Luis López has been active in civic affairs in service to Northeast Los Angeles communities for more than 15 years. He served as President of the Los Angeles East Area Planning Commission from 2007 to 2013. He was a founding board member of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council where he served 2 terms and also served 3 terms as chair of the regional parks funding oversight committee.

In 2014, Luis launched a program through The Eagle Rock Association (TERA) to organize his community and oppose the expansion of the dirty urban dump in Scholl Canyon, at the north end of Figueroa Street. He is an advocate for smarter waste policies that reduce known dangers to air and water quality, which the dump has imposed on Eastside Angelenos and other nearby residents for more than 50 years.

Professionally, Luis has devoted his professional career to ensuring all people have access to quality and affordable healthcare. He is a 7-year board member of Planned Parenthood – Los Angeles. In addition to being a fierce advocate for women’s reproductive rights, Luis has fought for critically important safety-net programs for children, seniors, and people with disabilities through expanded Medi-Cal benefits and services for vulnerable and underserved people. He currently serves as Director of Government Affairs for City of Hope, a comprehensive cancer center as designated by the National Cancer Institute.

Earlier in his career, Luis was a Senior Consultant in the financial services practice of KPMG Consulting Inc., an international IT consulting firm (now Bearing Point, Inc.), where he managed large-scale data management projects involving credit analytics for federal housing programs, such as the Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae). Prior to joining KPMG Consulting Inc., Luis was a Social Science Analyst in the Division of Policy, Development & Research (PD&R) at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, D.C.

Luis holds a Masters in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pomona College. He resides in Eagle Rock with his partner Hans Johnson.

Michael MacDonald
Treasurer
Michael MacDonald is a licensed architect living in Eagle Rock with a practice located in Northeast Los Angeles. Born and raised in New York City, Michael moved to Los Angeles in 2005, living in Echo Park, West Adams, and Glassell Park before settling in Eagle Rock. Michael has spent much of his time in Los Angeles advocating for more human-scaled and connected communities, and received the 2018 Biddy Mason Community Advocate for Walking Award from Los Angeles Walks. Michael was the designer of "Street Beats," a music-centered pedestrian safety event awarded under Mayor Garcetti's Great Streets program.

As an architect, Michael specializes in commercial workplace and restaurant projects, centered on experience. Projects Michael has lead include Barcade in Highland Park, KCRW Studios in Santa Monica, and Google's offices in Venice. Michael has been an adjunct architectural professor at Woodbury University in Burbank and served as a guest critic at various Southern California universities.

Adalia Vidarte
Membership Coordinator
Adalia Vidarte is a Special Education Teacher in the Los Angeles area. She has lived in Eagle Rock for the past 21 years, and wants to continue to help build a more just and sustainable Eagle Rock for future generations. In 2017, Adalia was recognized by the City of L.A. for promoting career development for students and job-seekers with disabilities through job shadowing and hands-on career exploration. Particularly interested in access and equity for individuals with disabilities, her vision is that Eagle Rock becomes a community that views disability as an equally valid way of being and existing. Adalia received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education from California State University, Los Angeles.

When she’s not in the classroom, Adalia enjoys long distance running, and currently coaches middle school students to run the Los Angeles marathon.

Orion Turmon
Orion Turmon is a sixteen year old, born and raised in Eagle Rock. As a student at North Hollywood High School, his commute home is a daily odyssey, causing him to be acutely aware of the places where public transit falls short. He aims to give a voice to students, who comprise a large swath of users of public transit. He intends to go to college for urban planning to further knowledge of this field.

Robert Gotham

Bob Gotham, a retired banker, has been a resident of Eagle Rock for over 25 years. Born and raised in Boston, Bob attended Boston University and Syracuse University. After serving in the Air Force as a Russian linguist, Bob entered the technology field. Career moves eventually took him to Los Angeles where he applied his technical and management skills to the Banking industry,

Bob’s joined the board of The Eagle Rock Association over 15 years ago. He was the president of TERA from 2009-2017. Bob also served as chair of the Take Back the Boulevard and Rock the Boulevard Steering Committees, initiatives serving as a community-driven revitalization of Colorado and Eagle Rock Boulevards. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock and is a member of the Eagle Rock Valley Historical Society and the Collaborative Eagle Rock Beautiful.

Bob and his husband Mike are members of the Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church of Pasadena where Mike sings in the choir and Bob is involved in fund raising and community building. Gardening, traveling, socializing and spending time with their grandson occupies much of their free time.
